tips for traditional PUBLISHING

 

1.Do your research. The trick is to match your manuscript with the correct publisher. Read some of the books on your selected publisher’s list. Check the publisher’s guidelines. Know who is accepting, and what they are looking for. Find out then name of the acquisition editor when possible. 

2.Get organized. Keep track of submissions, multiple submissions especially.

3.Be patient – Publishers will take their time. It may be six to eight months before you hear anything. Figure it will take about two years between acceptance and book in print.
